Our 2nd storm of the season started getting going Friday morning. y the time it ended Saturday night, most of Iowa is in pretty bad shape. It was an impressive storm with a decent amount of wind and a lot of wind. Also, cold air was issued in with wind chills Saturday night well into the -30. Saturday afternoon, the weather became bad enough that an empty Marcus train became stalled and then stuck at Beth. Extra power came out overnight but was unable to move the train. Sunday contractors and 337 came in to help and get the train broke loose 24 hours later. Here, 337 pulls the train back to flat ground so U705 can try again. The U705 power follows their train back east to the "try again" start line.
This would be the only snow we would get this winter. It was gone within 2 weeks.
