| The Swiss Railwaymen Travel Association (SERV) Winterthur section celebrated its 75th anniversary on this day. A special train with the 3 luxurious PRESTIGE CONTINENTAL EXPRESS coaches (two dining cars "Le Salon Bleu" and "Le Rubis Noir" and a piano bar car "Le Diamant Bar") pulled by the matching Re 421 # 387 (Re 4/4 II # 11387) of IRSI, formerly SBB, ran for the members. The train circulated from Winterthur via Bülach-Eglisau-Schaffhausen-Kreuzlingen-Romanshorn-St.Gallen-Wattwil-Wil SG back to Winterthur-Bülach-Schaffhausen. The train arrived in Wattwil and the locomotive has to go around the three cars. The trip was organized by RailEvent and operated by the railroad company TR TransRail.
The Swiss Railway Travel Association (SERV) is a leisure organization founded by railwaymen in 1948 with the aim of organizing inexpensive and special trips for railwaymen and railwaywomen. The Winterthur section was founded in 1949.
