Geep Family Pic. To celebrate the 175th Anniversary of the Central Railroad Of New Jersey (CNJ), the Whippany Railway Museum operated special excursions on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Also part of the event was the display of NJ TRANSIT 4109 (née CNJ 3677, GP40-P, EMD, 10/1968), a unit operated by the CNJ. Part of the consist for the excursion train was an original CNJ Club Car as well as a CNJ caboose. There is still a significant amount of CNJ trackage in service, including the Raritan Valley and North Jersey Coast Line, as well as freight trackage, though it is now operated by NJ Transit, Norfolk Southern and various shortlines. The early morning photo at the Morristown and Erie Railway shop show GP40PH-2s NJTR 4101 and 4109 bookending the M&Es GP15-1s.
