Remarks & Notes |
Two young boys have walked the entire length of these two Electro Motive Division F units in Spencer, NC at the Streamliners Festival in May 2014. They may be thinking no one makes train engines like this anymore.
In fact, this has been called The Diesel That Did It, the locomotive that killed the steam engine. It was built in 1939 and ran across the country by the builder to persuade railroads to embrace diesel technology. It must have worked. |
