Remarks & Notes
Desert Electrics. A trio of Deseret Power Railway E60C electric locomotives - DPR-1, DPR-2, and DPR-3 - are seen hauling a coal train through the high desert of northwest Colorado, about to pass under State Route 64 as they make their way to the Bonanza Power Plant at the end of the line. The first two locomotives are original to the railway, which opened on January 4, 1984, while the third was purchased secondhand from Ferrocarriles Nacionales de México (NdeM) after the electrification project it was purchased for was abandoned.
