Early Daylight Hudson Freight. At about 20 minutes after sunrise, there were no commuters on the platform of the MTA Metro-North Railroad Scarborough Station to greet M701 as it passed through on the way to the Bronx. From time to time these freights will come through a bit later and waiting passengers stare in amazement. While most of the year it takes more unusual circumstances to line up to catch a CSX Train on the Hudson Line in daylight, early summer sunrises on a weekend make it a little easier. On Saturday, June 8, 2024, M701-07 got a relatively late start out of the yard in Selkirk, New York for the trip to Oak Point Yard in the Bronx, New York. The matched "YN2/Bright Future" pair of AC44CWs CSXT 475 and 476 brought the 9800' train down with good speed, finding sunshine towards the end of the trip.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
