| Battery shunting locomotives, known as tractors in Switzerland, Ta 251 # 004 and # 002 in Erstfeld. The two vehicles with an extremely short wheelbase and length were built by Stadler in 1990 for shunting in SBB industrial plants, with a maximum speed of 10 km/h and magnetic buffers. These could be used to pull other vehicles without being coupled. These and other similar vehicles were also known as "octopuses". |
