NJ Transit train 1621, a modest early afternoon 3-car train heading from Hoboken, New Jersey, to Spring Valley, New York, departs the Secaucus Junction station with a Bombardier-built ALP-45DP dual purpose locomotive (powered by either diesel or electricity) on the headend. NJ Transit's Bergen County and Pascack Valley Lines pass underneath Amtrak's Northeast Corridor at this station. The skyline of New York City's Lower Manhattan, including the Empire State Building (to the right of the newer, taller buildings), can be seen from here. (Secaucus, New Jersey – July 2, 2024)
