For some times, this diminutive 25 ton end-cab critter sat on a stotage track beside the former Piedmont & Northern depot in Belmont, North Carolina. The little guy was built in 1950 by General Electric in April of 1950. The little 150 horsepower locomotive was shipped to Duke Power's Lee Generating Plant at Pelzer, SC as #10, and was later reassigned to the Allen Generating Plant at Belmont, N.C.
After her service life, she was placed in Belmont out of service as a museum piece for the Piedmont Carolinas Railroad Museum which was housed in the depot. When thy lost the lease to the depot, #10 found a new home at the New Hope Valley Railroad is Bonsal, North Carolina where she is now NHV #10.
