Flyin' By Forty-Six. MTA Metro-North Railroad Train 809 was led by the then most popular locomotive on the railroad on the morning of Thursday, August 3, 2023. Metro-North (MNCW) GE P32AC-DM 208 had recently had this special 40th Anniversary wrap added commemorating the "beachball" paint scheme that was once dominant on FL9s on this line and still lives on the West of Hudson fleet. The wrap would be the first of four "heritage" wraps added for the 40th Anniversary. The train has just passed the Bear Mountain Bridge along the shores of the Hudson River as it heads through Manitou, New York toward Poughkeepsie, New York. The locomotive has been out of service recently for mechanical work at Croton Harmon, and will return to the rod when completed.
