| Southern Style way up North! A heavy sand train descends heavy grade towards Winniandy. The mountainous line has grades exceeding 1.25% and this requires lots of horsepower. This sand train set up 3x2 at Swan Landing has a leader running long hood forward. This power arrangement running "backwards is quite common on this line, and not so rare even on the transcontinental CN mainline... |
