Remarks & Notes |
Train 654 of the Schynige Platte Bahn from the top of the mountain back to Wilderswil circulated with two sections. Cogwheel locomotive He 2/2 # 18 "Gündlischwand" built in 1910 by SLM and Alioth for the Wengernalpbahn as # 58 and transfered to the SPB in 1963, is running down above Breitlauenen as first section. When travelling downhill, the SPB locomotives have the pantograph lowered to minimize wear on the contact strips and contact wire. The heat from the resistors of the electric brake is released into the mountain air. Cab windows and doors and a flap on the side are open for better heat dissipation. |
