Engineer Pitt has 11,000 horsepower at his disposal, in the form of a pair of SD70ACe locomotives, 9075 and 8785, pulling this 160-car train (103 leads and 57 empties), stretching for 9,227-feet (or 1¾ miles, or 2.81 km) as it skirts the Sandhills (which, by the way, are not a National Park, as apparently the ranchers that own this land use if for grazing … which is too bad, and Nebraska could use some preserved land to give folks a reason to get off of Interstate 80).
