Under the watchful eye of Mt. Capulin, a beautiful (dormant) cinder cone volcano (and a National Monument), an empty coal works back toward Wyoming. This train is sliding down from Des Moines (6600') into the valley where Folsom, NM is located. After hitting the horseshoe in Folsom, this train will leave the volcanic field, and climb again over the Johnson Mesa toward the Colorado state line before turning west and winding toward Trinidad, CO.
