Dobbs Ferry Forty Years Later. On Thursday, August 15, 2024, Amtrak's 40th Anniversary Phase II unit, P42DC AMTK 130, makes a rare appearance on the Hudson Line at dusk, leading Train 241. While the Hudson Line assignments are normally held down by dual-mode P32s, when one is not available, a P42 will substitute and the "vents" in Penn Station will be turned on to remove the exhaust. Phase II was a short lived Amtrak paint scheme, lasting from about 1974-1976, during which time the Genesis predecessor F40s and FL-9s wore these colors. The train is seen turning the curve at Half Moon, with the New York City skyline in the background.
