Cranberry Heritage Debut. On the night of Friday, August 16, 2024, MBTX 1129 (GP40MC) sits at the Mass Coastal/Cape Cod Central Railroad yard in Hyannis, Massachusetts, in position for its public debut. The locomotive was recently overhauled and repainted by the MBTA to honor and early paint scheme used when municipal control of the region's Commuter Rail lines began, and originally had been applied to FP10s and at least one F40. The locomotive sits next to Bay Colony Railroad EMD GP9R 1706, which was recently added to the MC's roster when it acquired the BCR's lines and trackage rights. Both of these units and more will be on display for the public as part of the Railfan Day events on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
