As part of Railfan Day, Mass Coastal operated special trains between Bourne and Hyannis with MC 2011 and 2026 on the south end of the train. The two FL9s, former New Haven units, were never coupled together for passenger service since their arrival on Cape Cod in 2018 until this day. Here, the train is seen in Sandwich headed northbound to Bourne with the FL9s on the rear. 2011 was repainted last year, and 2026 is on the docket to be repainted as well. Mass Coastal recently acquired a third FL9, No. 2027, which is expected to be painted in Mass Coastal colors.
