New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) R134 refuse motor EP017 is seen leading an evening equipment transfer through 181st Street Station on the IRT Broadway-7th Avenue Line, bound for 207th Street Yard. The transfer consisted of four R127 and two R134 refuse motors - a full third of the total fleet: EP017, EP001, EP002, EP004, EP005, and EP015. The two batches of cars were built by Kawasaki in 1990-1 and 1994-6, rumored to be made from leftover R62 body shells, and have been used off and on as motive power for trains collecting refuse from stations - though their lack of air conditioning typically means they are swapped for retired revenue cars during the summer.
