Geometry Train in Pelham. For a week, the consist of MNCW 201 (40th Anniversary/MTA-Conrail)-DOTX 216 (Geo/Metroliner)-MNCW 6331 (Shoreliner III)-MNCW 129 (BL20GHM) traveled the system MTA Metro-North Railroad system inspecting the track. U.S. Department of Transportation/Federal Railroad Administration DOTX 216 was, built by Budd in 1967 as Penn Central 803, was later converted to Amtrak 9642 before coming to the FRA. The DOT states that it "supplement track geometry inspections performed by the Office of Safety cars". The train is double-ended to facilitate changing ends, seen here passing through the MTA Metro-North Railroad Pelham Station.
