Hoboken Meet Our Rail Fleet: Past and Present In 2024.On Sunday, September 15, 2024, NJ Transit hosted an event for the public to have an opportunity to view and photograph its roster of special scheme equipment. Also on display were a pair of museum visitors from the local area. After a two plus decade absence, this free event made its return last year, following in the tradition of the original Hoboken Festival that was a staple of 80s and 90s railfanning in the Garden State.
Highlights of the day included the return of NJDOT/EL U34CH 3372, now part of the United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey, and DLW 2454, part of the Whippany Railway Museum. These two pieces of equipment represent significant parts of the roster at the start of NJ Transit. The DLW 2454 had a few different arrangements on signs and flags on the end during the day, this shot shows the maximum "decoration".
