Remarks & Notes
When you see what the lighting is like elsewhere on the railroad in summer, much less northbounds in winter, you'll understand why this bridge sees so much exposure. Here, the Fort Pierce-Jax 204 job has a pair of SD40-2, which may have been very common 10 years ago, but very much uncommon now. Even the unit train to City Point isn't safe from GE's again. So when this pair came north, with a Susan Komen Geep in tow, it was time to go. For the very serious rivet counters, I can think of only two times in 2014 I had to get a pair of Champs with one of the Komens. For everyone else, keep an eye on bridge relocation coming up soon, which may or may not benefit this angle. Provided they do not put up a guard rail along the walkway of the bridge, we should be okay.
