Two 2s At Lenox. During a weekend long shut down of the Harlem River Tunnel between the 135 Street Station in Manhattan and the 149 Street Station in the Bronx, 3 line service was suspended and 2 line service operated out of the Harlem–148th Street Station using some cars from each line. On the evening of Saturday, September 14, 2024, MTA NYCT Subway R-62 1491 and R-142 6696 sit side by side at the platform. This is highly unusual as R-62s are not assigned to the 2 and R-142s are not assigned 3 and so do not normally come to this station. Opened on May 13, 1968, this is actually one of the newer stations in the NYC subway, and would be one of the last stations to be added to the system until the Archer Avenue lines opened in 1988.
