Amtrak's Operation Lifesaver locomotive (commemorating the rail safety organization's 50th anniversary), P42DC 203, was on display at Los Angeles Union Station on September 21 and 22, 2024, as part of Rail Safety: Los Angeles, the largest railroad safety event in more than a decade, presented by San Bernardino Railroad Historical Society (SBRHS) with presenting partners Los Angeles Union Station, Metro, Metrolink, and Amtrak, is a part of Rail Safety Month . This free, two-day event takes place on Track 15 at Los Angeles Union Station on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm each day.
