"Down, But Not Out"
On the morning of Friday, August 9th, 2024, Amtrak Northeast Regional Train 141 collided with the rear of a tractor-trailer carrying paper rolls, which was fouling the Sackett Point Road grade crossing on the MRS (Hartford) Line in North Haven, Connecticut. Thankfully, the engineer sustained only minor injuries, and all other crew members and passengers were unharmed.
In this photo, heavily damaged Amtrak GE P42DC No. 97 leads the train across Benton Street in New Haven, Connecticut, as it limps the remaining 5 miles to New Haven Union Station.
