One Night In Willimantic 3 Years Ago. The Connecticut Eastern Railroad Museum in Willimantic, Connecticut held its 17th Annual Night Photo Shoot Event on Saturday, October 2, 2021. Museum volunteers arranged equipment and posed in period appropriate clothing to make a memorable night for photographers. The museum is located on what was once was part of the New Haven Railroad's "Air Line" on the original site of the Columbia Junction Freight Yard. While the roundhouse itself is a new construction, almost everything else at the museum is an original piece, moved to the location for preservation. Lighting and direction was provided by museum member and photographer Thomas Nanos. A few years later revisiting some of the pics, a little creative application of black and white gives them a bit of a different look. Former Central Vermont Alco S4 8081 sits in front of the former Chaplin Station of the Boston, Hartford and Erie Rail Road with a group of appropriately dressed museum members.
