Remarks & Notes |
The small cogwheel steam locomotive HG 2/3 # 6 “Weisshorn” was the first operational steam locomotive on the Furka mountain steam line in 1990. It was built in 1902 by SLM Winterthur for the Visp-Zermatt Railway (VZ), was later used as a shunting locomotive at the Emser works in the canton of Graubünden and survived on a pedestal in a children's playground in Chur. On the last day of the 2024 season, the locomotive pulled a passenger extra for Maertens Reisen from Dresden/Germany from Realp to Gletsch and back. The # 6 is shunting in Furka DFB near the portal of the summit tunnel. |
