The Boys in Blue.
On Saturday October 5, 2024, NJ Transit unveiled their newest heritage unit, honoring the legacy of Conrail as a commuter carrier! Commuter service on NJ Transit lines was operated by Conrail under contract to NJDOT from 1976-1983, when NJ Transit Rail Operations took over all commuter rail operations in the state. Chosen to receive the new paint scheme was GP40PH-2B no. 4208, which was built for Penn Central in 1965-1969 and was later operated by Conrail.
Not
just heritage schemes, not just commemorative schemes - this album is devoted to some of the world's most interesting paint schemes, past or present.
