| Lonely mountain landscape with the Furka station on the Furka mountain steam railroad at 2160 meters above sea level. The cogwheel steam locomotive HG 4/4 # 704, which on this last day of the 2024 season is pulling train 133 from Realp to Oberwald and back to Realp in the afternoon, has been turned off at the turntable and is now standing in front of its train again, ready to travel through the 1874-metre-long Furka summit tunnel to Muttbach-Belvédère in Valais, where the descent to Gletsch and Oberwald begins. |
