CIT Group/Equipment Financing SW1500 CITX 1558 was built by EMD for Southern Railway, as SOU 2306, in November 1968. It later became Norfolk Southern 2306 after the Southern/Norfolk & Western merger, and was later sold to Norfolk Portsmouth Belt Line as NPBL 2306. It was later acquired by CIT Group/Equipment Financing, which assigned it number CEFX 1558. (Saint Louis, Missouri – October 5, 2024). Photographed on railroad property with permission and full PPE.
