Remarks & Notes |
The clouds are giving way to sunshine while CN 4730 is now at rest in Huntsville Yard after its day's work is over. The fall colors are kind of subdued here but a day or so past prime in other nearby areas this year. Meanwhile, a Jordan Spreader sits on an old stub track that harkens back to the days of steam when it led to a small turntable/roundhouse complex. The spreader has sat there since last winter when it suffered a hydraulic failure as it was finishing up its run north from Washago to Huntsville. It's unknown at this time whether the spreader is back in working condition or still waiting for repairs, but I heard tell the foreman on that job said he just wanted to push it off the tracks and into the woods somewhere. I offered up that I'd be happy to let them use some of my trackside bush-lot a few miles south of town but somehow I doubt they'll take me up on that one! |
