Colorful Laurel Cove. The Mass Bay RRE 6th Annual "Fall Circle Trip" on October 18, 2014 took passengers on a chartered Providence & Worcester Railroad train from Worcester, Massachusetts through Woonsocket, Rhode Island down to North East Corridor Line just north of Providence. From there it headed south to Groton, Connecticut, and ultimately back up to Worcester. PW 4003 (née-NYSW 4006, B40-8, GE, 6/1988) leads the train by Laurel Cove in Preston, Connecticut on the return to Worcester through a very colorful area of Fort Point just past the Route 2A bridge. And while the scene may look like it is in the middle of nowhere, this viewpoint is actually just outside of the Mohegan Sun Casino.
Although most only provide freight service, regional railroads have passenger operations; not only executive trains but also charity events and excursions.
