Last Street Run. On the morning of Tuesday, October 20, 2020, Morristown and Erie Railway SW1500 20 rolls down Monroe Street in Garfield, New Jersey for the final time, with the last salvage from the former Erie Railroad Dundee Line. This branch had been operated by the New York and Greenwood Lake Railway in the recent era, until that company ceased operation. For a few days around that month, trains carrying the removed rails traveled through the streets of Garfield, and as the banner on the locomotive indicates, this was the final trip. The train is seen passing the intersection of Monroe Street and Cambridge Avenue, which is now just another street in New Jersey and has no evidence left of the 140 years of railroad operation.
