Take The A To Rock Park. During a construction related planned service change during the weekend, MTA NYCT Subway A trains used the Rockaway Park-Beach 116 Street Station as their terminal and passengers were transported by shuttle bus to the stations on the Far Rockaway–Mott Avenue branch. While there are five A trains that normally follow this route on weekdays at peak hours in each direction, this did offer an opportunity to photograph these full length A trains in more favorable lighting conditions. On Sunday, October 20, 2024, number of runs included the new Kawasaki built R211A fleet. Other than during those peak weekday times and summer weekends, this branch is normally served by half-length consists of four 60-foot 6 inch cars or four 75-foot cars for the Rockaway Park Shuttle. MTA NYCT Subway R-211A 4190 heads toward Rockaway Park-Beach 116 Street while passing the B98-Playland Station, with Bay Towers Apartments in the background in Rockaway Park, Queens, New York.
