Through the narrow gorge of Moutier in the Jura, through which the river Birs flows, the train passes through a total of 11 tunnels, 9 in the actual gorge. Some of these are very short, the two shortest only 7 and 8 meters respectively through striking limestone ribs, typical of this area. The SBB ICN tilting train RABDe 500 # 018 “Adolf Wölfli”, traveling as IC 1526 on line IC56 from Basel via Delémont-Moutier to Biel, is passing through tunnels III and II.
