Among the group of Union Pacific locomotives parked at the South Saint Louis Riverfront (adjacent to the Anheuser-Busch brewery) is UP SD40-2 1791. Classed by the UP as an SD40N, this locomotive was built by EMD in January 1975 as Chicago & North Western Railway 6905. With the UP's acquisition of the C&NW in April 1995, this diesel would soon become UP 3070. 49 years after being built, this workhouse keeps doing its job ... albeit now on locals and in yards rather than rolling down the mainlines.
