Remarks & Notes
As ore trains make their way south on the Iron Range Sub, they drop down grade out of Fairbank into Brimson. Once past Brimson, at MP 23, the railroad climbs 7 miles into Wales before the big stair step drop into Two Harbors. The railroad climbs a .60% grade as they gain around 200 feet in elevation and the highest point on this subdivision. Here, the engineer has these 3 C40s in run 8 as they make a run at the hill as they leave Brimson. Soon the weight of the pellets will have these ponies down to under 20 mph.
