Passing through the campus of Chapman University is BNSF Railway freight train H-BARSDG1-22A, with the first half of the train having just transitioned to Metrolink's Orange Sub after traveling down the entire length of Metrolink's Olive Sub (don’t be impressed … it is only 5½ miles in length), and having tread before this on BNSF's San Bernardino Sub and, originally, BNSF's Cajon Sub out of Barstow. Still to come, a jaunt down San Diego Northern's San Diego Sub and, finally, a mile or two on BNSF's San Diego Sub – to get to … wait for it … San Diego! Power for today's train is BNSF ET44C4 3974, SD70MAC 9749 (rebuilt into an SD70MACe) and ES44C4 4208 up fraont, with BNSF ES44AC 5904 and Dash 9-44CW 5302 as the rear Distributed Power Units. So, all five locomotives are different models! (Orange, California – October 23, 2024)
