Remarks & Notes |
The Rich Mountain area on the KCS Shreveport Sub is a well known location. The KCS goes up around the Quachita Mountains near the Oklahoma/Arkansas Stateline. Here trains go from 500 feet to the summit at 1600 feet in a 20 mile climb. Most southbound trains are DP'd and take a good while to make this climb. Here we have a 2x2, 98 car, loaded grain train making about 15mph as they climb thru Page toward Rich Mountain on a beautiful evening. |
