Blue Engine, Dusky Blue Sky. On the evening of October 19, 2020, NJ Transit Train 1629 was arriving at the Oradell, New Jersey Station at a few minutes after sunset. GP40PH-2 NJTR 4109 was repainted the prior year in its "as delivered" Central Railroad of New Jersey (CNJ) colors, and it can be regularly found on any of the Hoboken Division lines. The Oradell Station was a significant edifice for the New Jersey & New York Railroad when it was built in 1890. One of only two station on the Pascack Valley Line with second story, it was purchased by the Borough of Oradell on November 23, 1966, and has been listed in the state and federal registers of historic places since 1984.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
Photos of the Pascack Valley Line. This railroad was built as the New Jersey and New York RR, falling under the control of Erie, Erie Lackawanna, Conrail and NJDOT before present passenger operator New Jersey Transit and freight carrier Norfolk Southern.
