R-32 Cars In The Transit Museum. During the last week of October 2024, the "blue door pair" of Budd built R-32s was brought to the New York Transit Museum at Court Street in Brooklyn, New York. A few days after their arrival, a replica of the famous "First Of 600 New Brighliners For A Better Subway" banner was added to the front. This banner was added to the front of this car type during the ceremonial first run over New York Central trackage into Grand Central Terminal on September 9, 1964. Even after six decades, these cars are still making appearances across the system, including a recent 60th Anniversary special excursion.
