The 2024 annual 470 Railroad Club excursion was the official debut of GP9 1741 painted in B&M McGinnis blue. The three locomotives pictured are all B&M vintage and owned by the 470 club. Here, the special is seen at Cook's Crossing, ducking under the Route 302 overhead bridge.
1741 was built in 1957 for the B&M. After being owned by Guilford and Pan Am, the 470 Railroad Club assumed ownership and the locomotive was moved to North Conway in late 2021, where the club's volunteers restored it to operation.
