BNSF train H-BARWAT1-06A, with an impressive eight locomotives for power (BNSF ET44C4s 3999 and 3804, BNSF ES44AC 6211, BNSF Dash 9-44CW 4440, BNSF ET44C4 3726, BNSF ES44DC 7669, [and just barely visible on the curve, the most interesting diesels] Norfolk Southern ES44AC 8132 and Kansas City Southern AC4400CW 4610 [the former KCS 2035]), has been sitting here at the San Bernardino Sub's milepost 35.6, more commonly known as Esperanza, for quite a while, as its crew's hours of service (12 hours) expired at 20:01 (8:01 pm) the previous evening. Once the fresh crew arrives, this train be able to continue its trip from Barstow to Watson, a distance of (roughly) 150 miles. One would suspect that this crew was trying to make the trip both ways, and 12 hours just wasn't enough time. You've just gotta love the efficiency of today's railroading!
