New York City Transit Authority (NYCTA) R211A car 4259 is the lead motor on an uptown A train - signed as an F train - seen arriving at 86th Street Station on the IND 2nd Avenue Line. On this weekend trains were running from Far Rockaway / Ozone Park to 96th St-2nd Ave due to switch replacement work at 59th Street, making for some interesting photo opportunities with the new cars on the 6th and 2nd Avenue Lines. It was uncommon, but some trains were sporting F or Q bullets - rumor has it this was due to the R211A cars not having a program for the A to 96th St. |
