Operation Toy Train: The Saratoga, Corinth & Hudson Railway's first train for Operation Toy Train (symbolled TOY-X) crosses the Sacandaga River into Hadley, NY for it's 2:10 PM stop. Earlier, the train made stops in Greenfield and Corinth. Considering this was the SC&H's first time running a train for Operation Toy Train, the event was very successful. Over 400 toys were collected for children who might not otherwise receive anything for Christmas. Power for the train was Alco S-2 #3021 (painted in D&H black and yellow) and Alco S-1 #5 (the original Alco plant switcher in Schenectady). I kept fairly busy this day, working in T&E service for the train between Corinth and Greenfield, then following the train between Corinth and Hadley, flagging Antone Mountain Road before continuing on to get this shot. The SC&H is currently gearing up for its popular "Candy Cane Express" trains, and you can purchase tickets at corinthtrain.com
