The 765 is giving the conventioneers in the open-window coaches an eyeful and an earful as it sails across Moodna Viaduct at track speed- about 35 mph. The viaduct opened in January 1909- it's 3,200 feet long and 193 feet above Moodna Creek.
The Van Swearingen Brothers standarized freight power for their railroads with nearly identical 2-8-4 Berkshires. Two of these engines are still in excursion service.
