Christmas is less than a week away, so is the end of Peak Season. Last minute UPS packages are being traversed across the rails to arrive in time for Christmas morning. Here, the hot Willow Springs, IL to Los Angeles, CA Z-train has no issues climbing the 1.5% grade of Goffs Hill on the Needles Sub with its short UPS train. With four motors on the point, only three are running as the the 4th is there incase one of the motor loses power. Also, the 2nd motor is facing the same direction as the leader incase the lead locomotive becomes unable to be a leader. All of these measures are taken to ensure the 25 UPS loads on this train arrive to the UPS facility on time.
