Train To Canadian Destinations. On November 20, 2024, Amtrak Train 63 (Maple Leaf) was passing through Tarrytown, New York with AMTK 711 (P32AC-DM) leading AMTK 108 (P42DC, 50th Anniversary, Phase VI) and 10 AmFleet Is. Under the plan to rehabilitate the East River Tunnels, this train was a combination of what had been Amtrak 63 (Maple Leaf to Toronto, ON) and 69 (Adirondack to Montreal, QC) and would be split for those destinations at the Albany-Rensselaer, New York Station, with the evening return of Trains 64 and 68 also being combined. Subsequently, a decision was made that these trains would be returned to completely separate operation for their entire route until at least March, 2025, along with restoring Trains 235/238 to the timetable and adding an additional car to other consists. Although the press release noted the return date as December 2, 2024, Trains 63 and 69 (and reciprocally 64 and 68) have operated separately since Monday, November 25, 2024.
