A Really Fiery Sunset. On Saturday, November 9, 2024 MTA NYCT Subway R-188 7865 was approaching the Mets-Willets Point Station in Flushing, Queens, New York as the sun was low in the sky. The effect was increased by the smoke and haze of nearby wildfires. The 7/Flushing Line was running with the "Diamond 7 Bullet" normally reserved for weekday rush hour due to a combination of track work and a movie shoot, putting it in a favorable track location for this picture.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
