Remarks & Notes
Northeast of Africa's largest monolith Ben Amira, there are several minor mountains in the Mauritania desert, about 9 kilometer north of the railway track. The about 2 kilometer long loaded iron ore train (called "mineralier") from the mine near Zouérate to the port of Nouadhibou is near PK 404 between Choum and Ben Amira, pulled by a typical SNIM consist of two SDL40-2 and a SD70ACS. CC # 118, CC 127 and CC 113 are in charge of the about 20000 ton train.
