The Soldier's Cross, otherwise known as the "Battlefield Cross", is a cross-shaped symbol of remembrance for soldiers who have fallen on the battlefield, made up of a pair of boots, a gun stuck in the ground, and a helmet capping it off. Depot Park in Roselle, IL, also named "Veterans Park" by the city, has a monument depicting one of these crosses, with a soldier kneeling down as he remembers his fallen brothers (whose names are engraved in brick around the monument). It is a fitting setting to witness the passage of CPKC 181, with CP 6644 - an SD70ACu wearing the colors of Canadian "Spitfire" aircraft used in World War II - in the lead with CP 8781, an ES44AC painted in an orange scheme commemorating CPKC's shipping partner Hapag-Lloyd, trailing second. A firm salute to all of our heroic servicemembers! Never forget their sacrifice.
A recent spike in a personal interest of the skill and work it takes to create and ultimately nail a shot in the dark using flash technology, leads to this album.
